History

PixelBender Photography started out in 2022. At that time we were located in the Northern Territory of Australia, or the ‘Top End’ as they called it. The northern territory provided wonderfull opportunities to explore nature photography with its two distinct seaons: the wet and dry!

Lighting was often a challenge because – in the dry season – it could be so intense, as was the heat and humidity.

Colors, though were vibrant, notwithstanding the often ever-present redish hue of the landscape.

It was in the Top End that the passion for nature photogaphy emerged after experimenting with architecture and building design.

Color

The architecture and wildlife work drew my attention to the significance of color in our world, some of which is very obvious, and some of which only emerges through contrast, and at certain times.

Black and White

Sometimes black and white is the best color of all!
